The UWF BOOK GROUP
January Book Selection
The UWF Book Group on Jan 17th 10AM at Amanda's
UWF Book Group is kicking off the new year with a meeting on Saturday, January 17th, at 10:00 am. We will gather at the home of Amanda and Paul Van Loan, located at 129 Shelter Lagoon in Santa Cruz. Our current selection is The Personal Librarian by Marie Benedict and Victoria Christopher Murray, a compelling work of historical fiction. The novel explores the life of Belle da Costa Greene, J.P. Morgan’s personal librarian, who navigated early 20th-century America as a Black woman passing as white to rise to prominence in the art world. Please RSVP to Amanda or Steph Mott if you plan to attend. While attending in person is highly encouraged—Amanda has hinted at a special surprise for those who come to the house—we are happy to accommodate remote participants as well. Steph will be joining the discussion via Zoom; simply let her know if you need the link to attend virtually. Whether online or in person, we look forward to exploring this fascinating story of identity, race, and resilience together. Happy New Year!
