Small Groups are a traditional way to build working relationships in Christ’s Church. They take many forms. There are limitless possibilities. What’s important is they build faith and transform lives both within the group and outside of the group.

UMC Santa Cruz has a number of Spiritual Growth Groups. Some have been going on for a long time, some are new. Consider building relationships by joining a Spiritual Growth group.

Game Night

Come join us for a focus on fellowship and fun! Game Night is slated as a time for recreational renewal and relationship development. This is a great opportunity for inviting friends…family…and acquaintances who are searching for a safe and fun activity.  Come join us and bring someone along with you if you’d like.

Game Night happens on the 2nd & 4th Thursdays at 7 pm in the Design Room next to the church office. Come stimulate your mind while having fun!

Centering Prayer

An opportunity to explore the concept of Centering Prayer.

Faithwork with Fiber

A prayer shawl small group ministry open to anyone who knits, crochets, or wants to learn. The group meets a few times a months to pray, share knitting/crocheting tips, and enjoy each other’s company as we work on our shawls, and other knitting/crocheting projects.

Faith Works with Fiber meets the second Sunday in the Fellowship Hall after church and the fourth Thursday at Beth Holland’s house.

Upper Room Devotional Small Groups

Come and share with others how God has shown up in your life during the week. You are welcome whether you’ve read the week’s devotional or not!

Tuesdays – 8:00 am Meets at Vintage Faith the Abbey 1st and 3rd Thursdays. Call the church office for any location changes.

Music Program

Opportunities for participating in the musical ministry of UMC Santa Cruz include the Worship Music Team, the Steel Drum Ensemble, and individual solo musical presentations.

Book Discussion Group

The Book Discussion Group meets monthly for lively discussions on books selected by the members (and tasty desserts!). This group has been meeting regularly since July 18th, 1991 and has read and discussed a wide variety of books.
